Terms of Use

The app

Hooked is a family fishing journal that lets you log catches, collect species, earn badges, and track trips. The app is in active development and we ship updates regularly. We may add, change, or remove features as the product evolves.

Age and parental consent

This app is designed for users of all ages. If you are under 13, you must have a parent or legal guardian's permission to use Hooked. The app has no accounts and stores all data locally on the device, so parents can directly review or delete a child's data at any time via Settings → Reset everything. By letting your child use this app, you agree to these terms on their behalf.

Fishing safety is YOUR responsibility

Always wear a life jacket near water. Always have an adult supervise children fishing. Always follow state and federal fishing regulations. We provide general guidance about species and water, not legal or safety advice.

State regulations

Keeper sizes, daily limits, and seasons in the app are simplified general guidelines drawn from public sources and may change. Always check current TWRA, NCWRC, FWC, or your local fish and wildlife agency before keeping any fish. Direct links to the official agency websites are provided in the app's species pages.

Your content

Your catches, photos, videos, badges, trips, and certificates belong to you. We do not claim any rights to them. Photos and videos are stored on your device and never uploaded to our servers. When you choose to share a catch card or trip summary, you are publishing that specific item yourself through the share mechanism on your device.

Free and paid plans

Hooked offers a free tier with no advertising. We also offer an optional paid subscription that unlocks additional features. Free tier pricing is $0 and will remain available. Paid pricing and benefits are shown in the app before purchase.

Subscriptions, renewals, and cancellation

Hooked Premium is offered as an auto-renewable subscription (Monthly or Annual) or a one-time Lifetime non-consumable in-app purchase. Current pricing is shown in the app before purchase.

Apple App Store (the only platform we currently sell on):

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the price shown in the app.
• Subscriptions can be managed and auto-renewal turned off in your Apple ID Account Settings after purchase.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under their refund policy. Contact Apple Support to request a refund. We do not process App Store refunds directly.
• Family Sharing is supported on all tiers. One purchase can be shared with up to five family members through your Apple Family Sharing group.

Free trial: New subscribers get a 14-day free trial. The trial converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Any unused portion of the free trial is forfeited when a subscription is purchased.

Lapsed subscriptions: If your subscription lapses, your local data on the device is preserved, but premium features become unavailable until renewed.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the app or do any of the following:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code (except where permitted by law)
• Use the app for any unlawful purpose
• Use the app to harm wildlife, violate fishing regulations, or trespass on protected areas
• Attempt to bypass paid features or share account access
• Resell or commercially redistribute the app without our written permission

Termination

We may suspend or end your access to the app if you materially violate these terms, though for a non-account app this mostly means we may stop providing future updates. You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. Cancelling a paid subscription ends premium access at the end of your current billing period.

Changes to features and terms

We may update, change, or discontinue features as the app evolves. We may also update these terms. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date. Continued use of the app after material changes means you accept the updated terms.

No warranties

Hooked is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or always available.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability and the total liability of any related parties for any claim arising from your use of the app is limited to the greater of: (a) fifty US dollars (USD $50), or (b) the total amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, or lost opportunity.

Apple App Store

If you obtain this app from the Apple App Store, the following additional terms apply:

• Apple's "Licensed Application End User License Agreement" (Apple's standard EULA) applies to your use of this app, in addition to these terms.
• In the event of any conflict between Apple's EULA and these terms, Apple's EULA controls.
• Apple, Inc. is a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them against you.
• Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for this app.
• We (Simplify Ecomm LLC) are solely responsible for the app and its content, not Apple.
• For product, warranty, or quality claims, contact us. For refunds on App Store purchases, contact Apple.

Google Play Store (future)

If you obtain this app from the Google Play Store, Google's terms of service apply in addition to ours. Google handles all payments and refunds for Play Store purchases under their policies.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of the app will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Knox County, Tennessee. You agree to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

Severability and entire agreement

If any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding your use of the app.
